“Tumeric is a great anti-inflammatory and it's helping me a lot. Along with Colodial Siver to aid in immune support, digestive enzymes, probiotics that have five different kind of probiotics in it, 3 times a day, a mineral/vitamin drink and no smoking, no drinking, no sugar, gluten, GMOs, red meat or anything processed. My gut is healing and so is my colon, kidneys, liver and pancreas. The cause of our health problems are deterioration in the lining of the stomach, inflammation in the stomach, body and Colon, lots of bad bacteria build-up, candida and Parasites.”

“Meditation and light exercise worked really well for me. Even just sitting and concentrating on taking long deep breaths makes a world of difference. Also kinesiology helped put me in remission and helped a lot with stress and anxiety that comes with UC When I was in my worse flaire, I lived on homemade chicken broth, white rice, bananas, peanut butter sandwiches, and skinless chicken. I avoided caffeine and drank lots of herbal teas instead. Once I started to get better, I was able to reintroduce more high fiber foods in my diet.”

“Prednisone really messed me up and these supplements have slowly gotten me out of it and helped a lot. Overall, this disease sucks and it takes time to figure it out but once you have your set routine - supplements, diet, stress-relieving activities, there are days that exist where you forget you even have the disease. So it's worth it. Being prepared, putting the effort in today so that years from now you'll thank yourself you did a bit of trial and error and found a routine that works. This is what worked for me. And anyone reading this, just know you're not alone!”

“Supplements: Honestly I know I don't absorb much because of UC so I make sure to up some nutrients with some vitamins. Multivitamin because why not :) I also take citracal calcium and vitamin D because prednisone gave me osteopenia. Biotin to avoid hair thinning. Not that this is even a problem because of my quarantine hair-look is pretty ridiculous. Also on steroids.”

“I was losing a lot of hair so I started to take a hairskinnails vitamin which started to help. Takes time though. I also recommend taking black pepper when you take tumeric, the black pepper activates the power of tumeric and we need that extra boost. A multivitamin because it's hard for us to absorb all nutrients from food. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my energy levels when I take vitamin d, high doses. Way less lethargy.”

“Stress and anxiety are two of my triggers. I take meds for both to help control both. on the non meds side, I try to avoid high stress situations. obviously that's not always possible. I avoid very greasy foods, spicy foods and high fiber/ nonsoluable fiber foods. On top of that I take meds to reduce the amount of acid in my system. The best way I know to figure it out is when you have flares, eliminate the foods that you ate around that time, then slowly add the foods in when you are feeling better. when you do that, eliminate any food that causes you discomfort until you can eat without issue. Basicly, a painful trial and error process. Unfortunantly, if your pain and inflammation are really bad off, then practically everything other than clear liquids will cause problems. another thing, if you drink eliminate any and all alcohol from your diet. alcohol is extremely dangerous for ppl with UC. it effectively eats away at the lining of your gut, causing horrible inflammation, and can eventually eat through your gut.”

“I always carry adult diapers with me when traveling. And wear them when I find ‘urgency’ happening. I also try to figure out any triggers like food and then fast for a day. On holiday, so go get a massage! Alleviate any stress!”

“This is what I found that helped me: Florastor, multivitamin and omega 3 pill right in the morning with a glass of Kefir. I also make a garden of life shake with bananas and coconut oil. At lunch, I take a VSL3. With lunch I'll drink kombucha (sp). Then at dinner, I'll take 4 lialda with another omega 3. Before bed, last glass of Kefir. Diet-wise, I don't eat: beef, pork, fried foods, milk, caffeine, a lot of sugar”
