Description
Yogurt is a natural probiotic containing good bacteria that’s especially beneficial for people with UC. Probiotics aid digestion and help to heal the gut by encouraging the growth of good bacteria. For those who are lactose-intolerant, the bacteria consume some of the lactose making yogurt easier to digest. Plain organic yogurt that contains live, active cultures with no added sugars is recommended.
Ingredients
4 cups organic yogurt
¼ cup strawberry fruit spread
½ cup frozen blueberries
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
¼ cup slivered almonds
¼ tsp lemon juice
Honey (as required)
Directions
1. Scoop some yogurt (about two cups) with a little honey into a bowl. Combine this with the strawberry fruit spread and lemon juice.
2. Divide the frozen blueberries into four and place into small glass jars.
3. Add three heaping tablespoons of the yogurt mixture into each jar.
4. Sprinkle some almond slivers onto the yogurt and top with sliced strawberries.
5. Add one more layer of yogurt to each jar.
6. Top with berries and almond slivers. Serve and enjoy!
